Julia Sumner a Registered Nurse since 1969, was employed as the Director of Nursing in a nursing home and as a psychiatric nurse in Hamilton On Canada. She served as a nursing officer in the Canadian Armed Forces for 17 years and retired at the rank of Captain. As a professional photographer she has been published in various books, magazines, postcards and other forms of advertising.
A long time visitor of Zihuatanejo since 1994, she established a beachside residence there in 2006. Passionate about animals, Julia volunteers at the Humane Society of Zihuatanejo (SPAZ) and is a Patient Advocate at the General Hospital. She also donates her time photographing local international events such as Sailfest, Guitarfest and charity, church and civic functions. She is proud to be a member of the Zihuatanejo Rotary Club and is also their In house photographer.
